The Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015
IDC will be present at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015
International Development Center (IDC) will be present at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, that will be held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 24-30.
US President Barack Obama will participate at the GES summit 2015. His participation will build on the success of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, August, 2014. This will continue his efforts to work with countries in sub-Saharan Africa including Kenya, to accelerate economic growth, strengthen democratic institutions, and improve security.
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) is organized annually since 2009. It has emerged as a global platform connecting emerging entrepreneurs with leaders from business, international organizations, and governments looking to support them.
This six-day conference brings together entrepreneurs in all fields, venture capitalists and foundations, to learn from each other, and identify ways to improve the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
US President Barack Obama elevated entrepreneurship to the forefront of the United States’ engagement agenda during a historic speech in Cairo in 2009. Since 2010, when the U.S. hosted the first Summit in Washington, D.C., the GES has grown to become a global event, subsequently hosted by the governments of Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and Morocco.
The established tradition demonstrates the U.S. Government’s continued commitment to fostering entrepreneurship around the world.
